Check your iPhone compatibility. If you want to unlock your iPhone by switching to your prefered carrier, check if your handset is approved by the network provider.

If you unlock your iPhone Through a Paid Service, do the following:

In iTunes, you can identify the IMEI code in the iPhone’s storage capacity, above the Summary window.

2. Retrieve your iPhone’s IMEI code. Your iPhone will be added to Apple’s official unlocked phones list, which means it will stay unlocked even if you upgrade iOS versions. On an iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, and 4S. the IMEI is engraved on the SIM Card.

In iTunes, you can see the IMEI code in the Summary window, beneath the iPhone’s storage capacity.

If activating your iPhone failed, download the latest version of iOS. The jailbreak will be terminated if your phone has jailbroken already. After the restoration process, your phone should be connected to the new carrier.
